Hotel Le Duc opens in Dagupan
A NEW tourism landmark opened in Dagupan City last March 4 with the inauguration of the five-storey Hotel Le Duc along the Dagupan-Lingayen Road.
The hotel offers 30 luxury rooms, a large function room for parties and conferences, and meeting rooms.
Hotel Le Duc, which is part of the Lyceum-Northwestern University Complex owned by the Duque family, will also serve as the university’s laboratory for students taking Hotel and Restaurant Management.
Dr. Gonzalo T. Duque, LNU president, said Hotel Le Duc aims to help Dagupan realize its dream to become the convention center of the north, noting that despite the presence of the CSI Stadia where national conference are regularly being held, the city does not have enough hotel rooms to accommodate participants.
Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez, who cut the ceremonial ribbon together with Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim, welcomed the investment in the tourism sector.
“Certainly, Hotel Le Duc help fill up the growing needs for more hotel rooms,” said Fernandez.
Calimlim, who represented Gov. Amado Espino Jr., said the province appreciates developments in Dagupan because it contributes to the promotion of the province as a tourist destination.
Archbishop Socrates Villegas, who officiated the blessing and inauguration, said the the work of a hotel can be summarized in one word: “hospitality”.
The prelate stressed that a hotel is actually an extension of home, calling it a “home away from home”.—LVM
