Dredging of Pantal River

By March 9, 2014Governance, News

MAYOR Belen Fernandez has reiterated her call to the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) to immediately start the dredging of the shallow Pantal River to ease the recurrent flooding in the city’s downtown area and other low-lying areas.

Noting that the rainy season is now only a few months away, Fernandez said it is about time that DPWH begin the dredging before it is too late.

“The people of Dagupan are worried because flood brought about by the rise of tidal water became oftener in the downtown during the past few years especially during heavy rains,” the mayor said.
