Balon Dagupan athletes 5th in R1AA
“GANITO pala ka-inspire na magpursiging manalo ang ating mga athletes if you provide them the support, financially and morally.”
This was the reaction of Mayor Belen Fernandez after the Balon Dagupan athletes brought home the fourth runner-up trophy in the just concluded Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) Meet held in Agoo, La Union.
The Dagupan athletes won 76 gold, 58 silver and 43 bronze medals in that meet. As a result, 33 of its Dagupan athletes will form part of the R1AA team that will train for the Palarong Pambansa on May 3 to 10.
Elated by the performance of the Balon Dagupan athletes, Fernandez handed cash incentives to them and their coaches and promised to add more if they make good in the Palarong Pambansa.
