ELATED by the success of the two Bayambang cycling races on February 23 and March 16, Mayor Ricardo M. Camacho is ready to host the town’s third bikefest of the year set on March 29 with a different format and sponsors.

The next bike tilt, dubbed this time as “2014 Bayambang Cycling Challenge” and to be sponsored by Excellent Noodles and Meridien Vista Gaming Corporation, will be run in two categories: the 36 to 54 years old division and the 55 years old and above class.

“We’ll give a chance to our aging riders to strut their wares this time to show their children and grandchildren how physically fit they are despite their age,” said Camacho.

The event will still be part of the quadricentennial celebration.

The bikefest will start and finish in Bayambang, passing through the towns of Basista, Urbiztondo, Mangatarem, Aguilar, Bugallon, partly Labrador (Magsaysay junction), partly Lingayen (Baay junction) and back with an approximate distance of 115 kilometers.

Cash prizes, trophies and medals are at stake.–JAGJr.
