WATERMELONS OF BANI—Watermelon growers in Barangay San Simon, an upland village in Bani, load their harvest in a truck that will take the produce to fruit stands in Metro Manila. Bani’s watermelons are known to be the country’s sweetest, reddest and juiciest because they are grown in farms with soil rich in limestone.
