SAN CARLOS CITY–A man was killed while his wife and two young nephews barely escaped death in a shooting in Barangay Coliling  here perpetrated by hitmen riding-in-tandem on a motorbike.

The victim, Ricardo Garcia, 49, resident of Barangay Polong Norte, Malasiqui town was driving his tricycle with his wife Miriam, 51, and their nephews aged seven and four, as passengers when the unidentified gunmen fired shots at him.

Miriam and the two boys sustained bruises when the tricyle tumbled into a road canal after Ricardo was shot.

The suspects used a caliber .45 as evidenced by recovered slugs at the crime scene.

Investigators eye revenge as the possible motive for the incident as the victim reportedly had a grudge against his brother-in-law and has a pending case in Urdaneta City.
