Guv supports two BMs in nat’l organization
LINGAYEN–Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. has lent his full support to the candidacies of 2nd District Board Member Raul P. Sison and 5th District Board Member Clemente B. Arboleda, Jr. who are both running for the position of national treasurer in the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) and the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) respectively.
To demostrate his support, the governor urged all municipal mayors in the province to require all Sangguniang Bayan members in their respective localities to attend the elections.
Sison, who first served as municipal councilor in 1992 to 2001 and 2004 to 2010 in Urbiztondo town, became the president of the Philippine Councilors League (Pangasinan Chapter) enabling him to serve in the provincial board as ex-officio from 2007 to 2010.
He was elected as provincial board member in the province’s second district in last year’s elections.
In his previous term, Sison held the position of PBMLP regional chair for Region 1 making him a member of the national executive board of the PBMLP.
Espino earlier commended Sison for his untiring support to the present administration as well as his strong and unquestionable qualities as a leader.
Sison chairs the committee on children, women, senior citizen family affairs and social welfare.
Arboleda, on the other hand, served as the team leader of the Operation Tulong Yolanda (formed by the governor) that went to Dulag, Leyte last December and acted as the province’s emissary of goodwill and volunteerism.
Espino tapped the services of Arboleda for the project whom he earlier described that the young legislator who has the ‘qualities of a determined leader who aims to accomplish positive results in all assigned task given to him.’
Arboleda, currently the majority floor leader of the province’s 8th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, chairs the committee on rules, privileges and ethics as well as the committee on appropriations, economic affairs, and ways and means.
Before his stint in the provincial government, he served as Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman from 1996 to 1999. Later on, he became a mMunicipal councilor in Alcala town.
With his outstanding performance as youth leader and local councillor, he won as the town’s vice mayor in 2004 to 2010. (PIO)
