Fire damages Mangatarem town hall
MANGATAREM– Fire caused by faulty wiring damaged an office of the Mangatarem municipal hall last February 10.
Initial investigation showed that the fire broke out after the town’s police station called the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco) to look into the sudden power interruption it experienced.
While Cenpelco repair crew were fixing the faulty electric wiring at the rooftop of the municipal hall that apparently short-circuited, the repairmen saw smoke was already coming out from the ceiling of the civil registrar office of the municipal building.
The local fire station and those of nearby towns immediately responded to the incident.
There was no reported casualty or person hurt while damages in the office are still being evaluated.–Johanne R. Macob
