Dagupan Bangus cookfest to go global
AS the coverage of Bangus Festival 2014 goes international, so with the bangus cookfest as foreign students from different educational institutions in the province are being invited to join the ‘101 Ways To Cook Bangus’ on April 28 at the CSI Stadia.
‘Bangusine’, for Bangus Cuisine International, will showcase the bangus cooked in a cuisine based on the traditional menu of each of the foreign participant.
Mayor Belen Fernandez recently met with Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU) in the province headed by Atty. Gonzalo T. Duque, and prompted them to invite their foreign students to join the event.
“We are encouraging more educational institutions to join us in this endeavor because we are not just promoting our bangus to foreign students who will be asked to prepare bangus dishes in their traditional way of cooking their food, but also to promote our city as an education destination,” Fernandez said. “We want our many ways to cook bangus na maging international siya because this will contribute a lot to our economy,” she added.
Duque, who presided over the meeting, agreed saying this is one way of showing the importance of the city’s bangus internationally.
Lyceum Northwestern University, University of Luzon, University of Pangasinan, Pangasinan State University–Binmaley and AMA Computer College in Dagupan have already signified their support and cooperation. (CIO)
