LINGAYEN–The works of Salvador Bernal, national artist for theater and designs and an ASNA awardee in 2011, will be put on exhibit at the Sison Auditorium as part of the 434th foundation anniversary celebration of the province on April 5.

Featuring Bernal’s stage, costume, and product designs, the exhibit, organized by the provincial government and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), will open on February 26 and will run until May 3.

“The exhibit will be open to the public especially to all high school students to showcase and promote production designing, to inspire them to choose this profession as course in college which is needed in the arts industry in the entire country,” said Ma. Luisa Elduayan, tourism operations division chief, during the “Pantongtongan Tayo” radio program of PIA-Pangasinan on Tuesday.

The CCP will bring the artworks of the artist, also known as Badong Bernal, in the province and will also conceptualize the exhibit.

Meanwhile, a lecture forum about theater design will be launched for cultural workers, young artists and students on February 26 at 2 pm, she added.

Resource speakers for the forum will be provided by CCP. (PIA1-Pangasinan/EBS)
