3rd archdiocesan seminary blessing on Feb 11

SAN FABIAN—The new building of the Mary Help of Christians Theology Seminary (MHCTS) in Barangay Palapad here, the third seminary of the Lingayen-Dagupan Archdiocese, will be blessed and its new chapel consecrated on February 11.

The occasion commemorates the 51st anniversary of the renaming of the See of Lingayen as the See of Lingayen-Dagupan.

Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas announced two separate days of celebration for the archdiocese to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the elevation of the See of Lingayen-Dagupan to the rank of a metropolitan ecclesiastical province.

Gov. Amado Espino Jr, 4th District Rep. Georgina de Venecia, San Fabian Mayor Constante Agbayani and other local leaders are expected to join the event.

A holy mass will be celebrated on February16 at 3:00 p.m. to be attended by the religious women, seminary friends, benefactors and all who helped in the construction of the seminary.

“The celebration with all who helped and are supporting the construction of the seminary is an act of thanksgiving for this legacy that will transcend our lifetime,” Villegas said.

The MHCTS, which opened its doors to 13 seminarians in June 2013,  has three resident formators, Msgr. Oliver E. Mendoza, Rector, Rev. Fr. Julius Cuison, Dean of Students, Rev. Fr. Mario Morales, Spiritual Director.

The two other seminaries of the archdiocese are the Mary Help of Christians Minor Seminary in Binmaley town and the Mary Help of Christians Major Seminary in Dagupan City.–Tita Roces
