PAUSA provides free healthcare to 4,000 residents
LINGAYEN-–More than 4,000 residents in four towns – Mabini, Manaoag, Mangaldan, Bugallon — and Dagupan City received free healthcare services from the Pangasinan Association – United States of America (PAUSA), Inc. during a series of Medical and Dental Mission held from January 13-17.
Now on its second year of implementation, the project held in partnership with the provincial government led by Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr., and local government units has been PAUSA’s way of extending love and care to fellow Pangasinenses and a share of their blessings in life.
Overwhelmed by the success of the project, PAUSA President Bayani Lapena expressed gratitude for the growing partnership of their association and the provincial government as he cited that the support from the Provincial Health Office has enabled PAUSA to help more Pangasinenses.
“Say nibagak labat ya wa dya kami ya untulong ed sikayo ed say pangakaukulan yo. Agko met nibagan amin nga itulong mi. Wa dya kami untulong angad nayarian me ed saray taga Pangasinan diad towns and cities,” Lapena said on behalf of 19 other officials of the group.
“The nostalgic feel of coming back to the province,” said Espino, “to help the poor and sick people and share with us some of your blessings, is something that we are grateful of.”
“This makes us feel so proud that you still remember your roots, you remember your province,” the governor added.
Espino cited that his administration has focused on increasing PhilHealth enrolment to help less-privileged Pangasinenses; continues to upgrade hospital facilities and maintains quality healthcare services rendered by health personnel in the hospitals of the province.
Meanwhile, PAUSA founder Nida M. Cortez, who serves as coordinator for USA and Pangasinan, noted that members of the association came from the grassroots level and this attached them “to bring their projects directly to rural areas and barangays to help people who are in mostly need of healthcare services,” she added.
The association also extended help to day care centers, giving school children school supplies among others, she said.
Bugallon Mayor Jumel Anthony I. Espino, along with other chief executives of towns and city that benefitted from the project, thanked the organization for the relentless support and love to Pangasinenses.
“Kung nakakaya ng mga balikbayan nating mga kababayan ang tumulong sa mga kapwa Pangasinense, sana tayo din… magtulungan tayo para sa isa’t isa,” the young Espino said.
Beneficiaries of the project who each received free medical consultation, medicines and vitamins and medical/dental services with peso equivalent of P3.2M were broken down as follows: Mabini (642);brgy. Pugaro, Manaoag (790); brgy. Bateng-Talogtog, Mangaldan (789); Bugallon 1,000; and barangays Bonuan Binloc (442) and Mangin, Tebeng (616) Dagupan City.
