Manuel Roy, new DCNHS alumni prexy

MANUEL V. Roy is the new president of the DCNHS Alumni Association for the term 2014-2015.

The other new set of officers are Bernard A. Tuliao, Batch ’84, vice president for internal Affairs; Reynaldo A. Caburnay, ’88, vice president for external affairs; Arlene Signo-Salegumba, ’81, secretary; Ruby F. Amado,’83, sub-secretary; Divina Pinero-Uy, ’72, treasurer; Jerick B. Calimlim, ’99, sub-treasurer; and Condrado T. Pidlaoan, ’70, auditor.

The members of the board of directors are immediate past president Liberato C. Reyna Jr., ’63; Flordeliza P. Chuson, ’75; Ferdinand F. Amado, ’82; Joy C. Delos Santos, ’09; Roberto F. Amado, Jr., ’86, Buenaventura D. Benavides III, ’91; and Jerick C. Agcaoile, ’12.

Roy, president of Batch ’68, who was unanimously elected by batch presidents, had worked closely with Reyna, and the batch presidents said they felt reassured that the projects of Reyna will be continued.

Roy, formerly the vice-president for external affairs, said he was initially reluctant to accept the nomination but he decided to accept the challenge when he sensed the commitment of support from the batch presidents.

“I could not turn my back on their desire to sustain the momentum started by Ope,” Roy said.

Roy supervised the completion of the construction of the Abong Na Alumni and phase 1 of the installation of the campus’ flood control system.

An on-going that Roy pledged to pursue to its end is the renovation of the abandoned city hall for full use of the school..

“Atty. Reyna has done much for the alumni association and as incoming officers, we are pledge to continue the many worthy projects that he has started,” Roy said.

Roy, general manager of Centromart and Urdaneta Xentromart, is a charter member and a former director of Rotary Club of Central Pangasinan and past president of the Dagupan ‘Bangus’ Jaycees.
