Capitol to adopt ATM payroll system

LINGAYEN–To boost the transparency and accountability, the provincial government of Pangasinan will soon use the digitalized payroll facility of the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) to facilitate efficient processing of the salaries and benefits of employees and officials.

In preparation for the new system, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) passed a resolution on Monday authorizing Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the LBP for the estalishment of a second offsite automated teller machine (ATM) to be located at the premises of the provincial Capitol Building here.

Espino will soon sign the MOA with Liza Mendez, manager of LBP Lingayen branch as representative of LBP President Gilda Pico.

The ATM payroll system will enable a faster and more accurate payroll-related activities compared with the traditional system of putting cash in envelopes and manually distributing these during pay day. (PIA1-Pangasinan/EBS)
