BFP reminds businesses: Install fire escape ladders
THE Bureau of Fire Protection has reminded business establishments to comply with standards set by the agency, which form part of the requirements for the issuance of a business permit by a local government.
SPO2 Jesus Astro of BFP Dagupan said businesses, especially boarding houses with at least two storeys, are supposed to have a fire escape ladder as provided under the building code.
Astro, speaking during the KBP forum last week, said business owners who failed to comply with this will be given deadlines for putting up the fire escape under a memorandum of undertaking that will be signed for a permit issuance.
Failure to comply within the deadline is a ground for revocation of the permit.—PIA1-Pangasinan
