2 killed in bus-motorcycle collision

URDANETA CITY—The biker and a passenger of a motorcycle died after their vehicle collided with a public utility bus at 4 a.m. of January 6 along the national highway in Barangay Anonas here.

Superintendent Jeffrey Fanged, Urdaneta police chief, said that the southbound Partas bus with plate number TWB-605 collided head-on with the Honda XRM motorcycle with no plate.

Both Joseph Quiban, 34, the bier and his passenger John Lindon Ordonez, 18, were both declared dead upon arrival at the hospital where they were rushed.

Another passenger of the motorcycle, Julius Pulido, 23, was injured after the three motorcycle riders were run over. The motorbike hit the gas tank of the bus, causing the bus to catch fire.

The passengers and the driver of the bus, Juanito Mupas, managed to get off the burning bus unhurt.

Mupas, 35, is temporarily detained at the UCPS while investigation on the accident is ongoing.–Johanne R. Macob
