Shrine for province’s leaders to rise at Capitol

LINGAYEN—A special spot honoring past provincial leaders will soon rise at the Capitol Park here to serve as a reminder and inspiration on the value of public service.

The site will have two components: the Governors’ Shrine will feature sculptured busts of the province’s past governors, and the Legislators Circle with brass markers for the vice governors and board members.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) passed two resolutions both authored by Board Member Nestor Reyes, last December 2 paving the way for the construction of the Shrine and the Circle.

The Pangasinan Historical Commission, headed by The PUNCH columnists Atty. Gonzalo Duque, has been tasked to prepare the documentation for the site to ensure historical authenticity and suitable designs and layouts.–Johanne R. Macob
