Medical mission is Baby A’s birthday gift
FOR DAUGHTER RACHEL
MALASIQUI—Third District Rep. Rosemarie “Baby” Arenas organized a medical-surgical mission for the poor last week to celebrate her daughter’s birthday, former congresswoman Ma. Rachel Arenas.
The medical-surgical mission dubbed Operation Tanggal Bukol, with support from the International College of Surgeons-Philippine, was held at the Arenas farm in Barangay Nancapian.
Aside from medical services, free medicines were also distributed to the patients.
Aside from the district’s residents, some 15 indigent patients from San Fabian town which is in another district and some from as far as Baler, Quezon were accommodated in the Arenas’ medical-surgical mission.
“It’s been a busy but fulfilling day. Thank God it was a success and we were able to undertake almost a hundred surgeries right here in the farm and hundreds of medical consultations,” Arenas said.
Dr. Carlito Arenas, board governor in Pangasinan of the group of doctors that assisted in the mission, said his group will have another scheduled in February at the Specialist Group Hospital and Trauma Center in Dagupan City.
About 22 doctors from the International College of Surgeons, 15 doctors from the Region 1 Medical Center and nurses from the Specialist Group Hospital and Trauma Center volunteered for the mission.–Eva Visperas
