Man arrested for shooting 17-year old boy

SAN CARLOS CITY– Operatives of the San Carlos City Police Station immediately captured the suspect in the shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Barangay Quintong here in the evening of December 10 that led to the latter’s death.
The suspect, 47-year old Alex Manuel, was arrested at the crime scene and policemen recovered from him a 9-mm pistol with eight live ammunitions.

Based on police initial investigation, the victim Angelo Melendez with his friend John Mark Rosario were on their way home when they had a confrontation with the suspect, which led to the shooting.

Melendez, resident of the barangay, was rushed to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival due to a gunshot on his left chest.

Manuel, also from the same village, is now detained at the San Carlos police station after charges have been filed.
