Dagupan fiesta features special events for PWDs
A ONE-armed cycling man from Lucao, Jesus Padilla, was among the lead group of bikers in the Padyak Para sa Maykapansanan 2013, an advocacy and fund-raising activity for persons with disability (PWDs) featured in the Dagupan City Fiesta.
Event chairperson Josephine S. De Vera, also president of the Katipunan ng Maykapansanan ng Pilipinas (Kampi), said the activity helped raised awareness on the plight of PWDs and highlighted the celebration of the International Day for PWD.
“The padyak held on December 11 around the city main streets is another milestone for the PWD sector because it is the first time they have an active participation in the city fiesta,” said De Vera, adding, “and it is also an achievement for the sector to organize such an event.”
The Padyak Para sa Maykapansanan was organized by the Stimulation and Therapeutic Activity Center (Stac), Kampi, and the city government of Dagupan.
