5th GATE chess cup registration is on
ONLINE registration is now open for the 5th Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. (GATE) Cup Open Chess Tournament which will be held at the Provincial Training and Development Center (PTDC) in Lingayen on December 21-22.
A walk-in registration day has also been set at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) in Lingayen on Dec. 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
To register online, download the registration form at www.facebook.com/pangasinan.chessleague then email the accomplished copy to pangasinanchessleague2013@gmail.com.
The registration fee should be deposited at Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. under account no. 9007175314. Successful registration will be confirmed through text.
The tournament’s cash prizes are: Open Category: P25,000 (first place), P20,000 (second place), P15,000 (third place), P10,000 (fourth place), P7,000 (fifth place), P5,000 (sixth place) and P2,000 each (seventh to fifteenth place).
Kiddie Category (born 1999 or later), P7,000 (first place), P5,000 (second place) P3,000 (third place), P2,000 (fourth place) and P1,000 each (fifth to tenth place).
P1,000 cash prize will be awarded to the top three female and top three senior (60 years old or above) players.
Pangasinan players will also receive P1,000 each for the top three scorers and P500 each for the fourth to tenth placers.
The participants will be provided free billeting at the NRSCC.
The tournament, sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) and organized by the provincial government of Pangasinan and the PCL, will be the concluding event of the annual Pangasinan Chess Festival this year.
