25 pass KBP accreditation exam
TWENTY FIVE out of 33 examinees passed the accreditation exam for the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) held last month.
The accreditation exam is aimed at raising the standards of professionalism in the broadcast industry, according to Chairman Jay Mendoza of KBP-Pangasinan chapter.
Michelle Angelica Soriano of ABS-CBN topped this year’s exam with a score of 90 points while April Montes of DZMQ Radyo ng Bayan came in second with 88 points. Third place is Aldrin Soriano of ABS-CBN with 87 points.
Completing the top ten passers are: 4th place-Irene Martinez of DZMQ Radyo ng Bayan (85 points); 5th placers are Myla Caranay and Amiel Christian Oineza, both from DZWM Catholic Media Network, and Aaron John Valerio of ABS-CBN (82 points); tying at 6th place are Ricardo Jan Archie Papilla, student, and Jonathan Ugalino of DZWN Bombo Radyo (80 points); 7th place-Teddy Villamil, Jr. of DZRD Sonshine Radio (79 points); 8th placers are Stephanie Romero of DWID Love Radio and Vangie Padilla of DZRD Sonshine Radio (78 points); 9th place-Aileen Carla de Guzman, student (73 points); and Cyrel Benneth Tajanlangit, student (71 points).
Prior to the examination, a half day seminar-workshop on investigative reporting, media ethics and broadcast code was conducted to enhance the knowledge and skills of media practitioners, journalism graduates and mass communications students in the province.
Mendoza urged unaccredited broadcasters to take the accreditation exams next year.
Unaccredited broadcasters are not allowed to announce or comment on-air in KBP member stations unless they are passers of the exam, he added. — (PIA1- Pangasinan)
