Pangasinan duathletes dominate PHL series
IT was a Pangasinan sweep.
Three Pangasinan duathletes put on an exceptional performance finishing in a 1-2-3 fashion overall in the three-leg run-bike-run Philippine Duathlon Series held on July 14 in Alabang, Rizal, September 28 in Gen. Trias, Cavite and November 16 in Nuvali, Laguna.
Philippine national team member Robeno Javier of Urdaneta City topped all the three events, with province-mate Jefferson Valdez of Asingan coming in a distant second and his city mate Robinson Esteves landed third.
The competition was participated in by 740 contestants all over the country.
Javier, 29, collected a total of P30,000 along with medals plus an all-expense paid trip for the three to the 2014 Asian Duathlon Championship in Sri Lanka.–JAGJr.
