A FORMIDABLE cast of at least eight teams will show their wares when the “First Mayor Bona Cup Inter-Commercial Basketball Tournament” unfolds on November 27 at the Macario Ydia Development Center in Mangaldan.

According to the league commissioner and Mangaldan sports consultant Paulo Jan F. Samson, seven teams so far had registered, spearheaded by the defending champions Jazysports Pitaki Boyz. The others are MSC-1, MSC-2, Market Vendors Association, Roma’s, Badd Azz and Team Anonymous.

“Our target is at least a minimum of eight teams to participate and I think we are confident we can reach that,” Samson said.

“We have a sports-minded lady mayor and so a lot of sports projects are in the program for this year and especially next year, that includes not only basketball but also table-tennis, cycling, badminton, marathon and volleyball to name a few,” he added.

Opening ceremony starts at 5:00 p.m. with Mayor Bona de Vera Parayno to grace the event.– JAGJr.
