GOV. Amado T. Espino, Jr. recently exchanged notes with this year’s Best Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) awardees and nominees for the continued improvement of the employment program in the province.

He met with the group during the latter’s courtesy call led by Alex Ferrer, Pangasinan’s PESO chief whose office has been nominated for National Best PESO (first class province category).

The others with him included Balungao PESO (nominee, third and fourth class municipality) represented by Gloria Fernandez, Rosales PESO (nominee, first class municipality) represented by Roel Sabado; and Region 1 Model OFW Family of the Year Award for 2013 namely Segundino Revita from Rosales (land based category), Dr. Jose Soriano from Mangaldan (special award for community involvement), and Heriberto Claudio Jr. from Bayambang (special award for entrepreneur).

“I am very happy because only a few are given this opportunity,” remarked Revita.

Revita was an OFW who worked as cook, equipment operator, and driver in Guam, Palau, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia for twelve years and managed to raise his eight children to become successful professionals, one of whom became a three-term mayor in their hometown.

Revita will represent the region in the national search for Model OFW Family of the Year.- (Johanne R. Macob)
