Dagupan seeks P15.9-M supplemental budget
THE Local Finance Committee (LFC) of the city government has recommended to the Sangguniang Panglunsod the approval of a supplemental budget of P15.9 million, P7.8 million of which will be used to pay for the electric bills of the city from July to August.
City Budget Officer Luz de Guzman, a member of LFC, stressed that the approval of the supplemental budget is needed immediately as the Dagupan Electric Corporation may soon send disconnection notice to the city government.
De Guzman said the last payment made to Decorp covered consumption only for June, when then Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez was still the acting mayor.
The other members of LFC who attended a hearing conducted by the SP Committee on Appropriation headed by Councilor Jeslito Seen were City Administrator Farah Decano, City Treasurer Romelita Alcantara and City Accountant Teresita Manaois.
Decano said the P7.8 million for electric bills will be sourced from the City Treasurer’s Office- Market Division with P1 million and the remaining P6.8 million from non-office account.
The other payables that will be covered by the supplemental budget are: P6.1 million for the wages of emergency workers and consultants assigned in various offices; P1.1 million additional outlay for Security Protective Services; P10,000 for subscriptions at the city library; and the rest for telephones, office supplies, representation and financial aid to indigents.
