Dagupan PUVs get new stickers
NEW stickers are being issued to all public utility vehicles (PUVs) plying Dagupan starting this month and owners who fail to secure such will be banned from operating in the city’s streets.
“By November 8, we will start implementing the permit decal to all passenger jeepneys plying the city. Those without stickers will not be allowed to enter the city proper,” said Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) chief Michael C. Hernando.
Hernando cited Article VI, Section 8 of City Ordinance No. 1748-2002, the Revised Comprehensive and Mandatory Traffic Code in the City of Dagupan, authorizing a permit decal for the current year to be furnished free of charge to PUV operators by the POSO after passing the required annual vehicle safety inspection conducted by an authorized representative of the City Mayor’s Office and after payment of the annual P150 regulatory fee.
All PUVs must submit an order of payment from the POSO, present latest Land Transportation Office (LTO) official receipt, LTO certificate of registration, Certificate of Public Convenience or Confirmation from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and a decision coming from LTFRB for a yellow plate.
Hernando warned operators that late filing will incur a P500 penalty. (CIO)
