LINGAYEN—The new sets of barangay officials who were elected last October 28 will officially start their term at noontime of November 30.

Upon takeover, the punong barangay (chairman) is required to designate a secretary and treasurer for the village.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Reggie Colisao said alongside the assumption of leadership is a formal transition from the outgoing officials to the new ones to ensure that properties, records, and finances are properly transferred.

A transition team chaired by the new chairman will handle the turnover.

Meanwhile, schedules for the election of the Liga ng Barangay (LNB) per town and city are yet to be finalized. The head of the provincial LNB earns a seat in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
