92 athletes train for Batang Pinoy games
LINGAYEN—Pangasinan’s delegation to the Batang Pinoy (BP) 2013 National Games, consisting of 92 athletes for 13 sporting events, will undergo rigid training from November 11 to 14 in preparation for their competition on November 19 to 24 in Bacolod City.
The province’s young athletes will be joined in the drills by other athletes from Luzon sponsored to b be held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center here in the capital town.
Provincial Sports Coordinator Modesto Operana expressed high hopes for the athletes to excel anew given a customized training sponsored by the provincial government.
The province’s athletes will compete in taekwondo-karatedo, boxing, archery, arnis, chess, athletics, lawn tennis, cycling, volleyball boys, basketball boys and girls, table tennis, badminton, and sepak takraw.
On November 15, the Pangasinan delegation will leave for Bacolod. Accompanying the players will be 27 coaches and 20 delegation officials.–Johanne R. Macob
