LINGAYEN— Here’s a tip for high school graduates seeking higher education so that they can plan on careers that will pay off quickly.

There were 3,000 job opportunities made available to Pangasinanenses during the mega jobs fair organized by the Provincial Employment and Services Office (PESO) last week at the Provincial Training and Development Center.

For overseas, there were big demands for medical personnel and in hospitality centers as cashiers and merchandizers, and skilled workers to fill in vacancies in manufacturing and construction projects.

The overseas jobs were for Riyadh, Jeddah, Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Oman, Guam, and United States of America.

Local employment opportunities were for production operators, factory workers. And call center agents, in the field of business processing and outsourcing (BPOs) as call center agents, banks personnel, and skilled construction workers.

The jobs fair expect at least 1,000 applicants more to be hired based on noted matching of skills and available jobs

“This jobs fair was held in observance of in view of the celebration of the National Statistics Month,” said PESO Manager Alex Ferrer.

PESO recorded so far some1,200 Pangasinenses were hired this year through the job fairs organized by the provincial government. (Johanne R. Macob with report from PIO)
