Killer of Sta. Maria municipal health officer arrested
LINGAYEN–The principal suspect in the gun slaying of the municipal health officer of Sta. Maria town in February this year was arrested by joint elements of the Pangasinan police and policemen of Baguio City in Baguio City on October 9.
The suspect, Jay R. Yranon, 33, was arrested at the house of his sister Sally Yranon Estrada in Upper Pinget, Baguio city where he fled after committing the crime.
Yranon was accused of killing Dr. Custodio de la Cruz, 54, of Barangay San Patricio, Sta. Maria at about 5:35 p.m. on February 15, 2013 along the Provincial Road in Barangay Poblacion West, Sta. Maria.
The warrant of arrest for the crime of robbery with homicide was issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Emma Inez-Parajas of Branch 52 in Tayug town.
A separate case for murder was already filed by the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office before the Regional Trial Court (RTC).
