DAGUPAN CITY, October 21 (PIA) – Skilled Pangasinan construction workers were given a shot at overseas employment last week when the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) held special recruitment activities in Lingayen and Alaminos.

Director Grace Ursua of DOLE Ilocos said the licensed recruitment agency has approved job orders to employ carpenters, masons, reinforcing metal workers and heavy equipment operators for Guam.

“The annual mean wage for the identified positions in Guam ranges from roughly $27,000-$30, 000,” said Ursua.

Special recruitment activities are being undertaken by the DOLE in partnership with licensed recruitment agencies, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, and provincial employment services offices to facilitate the employment of those looking for overseas jobs. (PIA-1, Pangasinan)
