Capitol extends P2-M aid to Bohol
LINGAYEN—The provincial board of Pangasinan approved Monday last week a resolution extending P2-million as calamity aid for earthquake-affected victims in Bohol.
In a resolution passed by the board presided over by Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr, the aid will be drawn from the province’s calamity fund.
Fifth District Board Member Clemente Arboleda Jr., author of the resolution, said the financial aid is the least that the province can do to alleviate the sufferings of the Boholanos who were displaced by the Oct. 15 earthquake.
Gov. Amado Espino Jr. recalled how provincial governments promptly sent donations to help Pangasinan cope with its own difficulties when it was hit hard by calamities in the past.—(Eva Visperas)
