BOOSTING AQUA FARMING—Provincial Administrator Rafael F. Baraan (2nd, clockwise) briefs the officers of the Power Bank System (PBS) and Nomura Research Institute (NRI) on the support activities of the provincial government for aqua farming after their courtesy call on Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. The two groups were commissioned by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to conduct a technology validation study using photovoltaic system (solar panel) as power source for milkfish production. The study, to be conducted in Dagupan City and Sual, is a follow up to the experiment earlier conducted in Binangonan, Rizal last year. The PBS group is represented by its Seiji Hirano while NRI was represented by Makiko Takaoka and Mia Ortiz. Joining the briefing were Westly Rosario, BFAR director, Board Member Danilo Uy, Benita Pizarro, prov’l planning and development officer, and Dalisay Moya of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
