FOUR of the province’s best duathletes will vie for the 2013 National Duathlon Championship on December 1 to be held at the Subic Bay Freeport.

Spearheaded by national team members Robeno Javier and Robinson Esteves, both from Urdaneta City, the other two are Asinganians Jeric Buhian and Jefferson Valdez.

According to organizing Triathlon Association of the Philippines president Tom Carrasco, the top five finishers will don the colors of the Philippine national team for the 2014 Asian Duathlon Championships slated in Sri Lanka.

The Pangasinan quartet will face an elite force of duathlon veterans led by 2007 Southeast Asia Games gold medalist Ryan Mendoza, Carlo Pedregosa, John Chicano, Nikko Huelgas, Jimmuel Patilan, among others.

The run-bike-run four-category championship is principally sponsored by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.--JAGJr.
