Leader of carnap group falls – PNP
A SUSPECTED LEADER of a notorious carnapping group in Pangasinan was arrested by the San Manuel police Thursday morning in Sitio Taguipuro, Flores, San Manuel town.
Chief Superintendent Ricardo Marquez, Region 1 police director, identified the suspect as Randy Galamgam alias “Sammy”, 23, a resident of San Vicente, San Manuel .
The arrest of Galamgam was effected by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Judge Tita Obinario of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 45 in Urdaneta City in connection with Criminal Case Number U-18823 for the crime of Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition.
Marquez said Galamgam was identified as the leader of the Galamgam Carnapping Group operating in the 6th District of Pangasinan, particularly in the towns of Asingan and Sta. Maria.
One of the cohorts of Galamgam identified as Romnick Delfin, a resident of Sitio Caniogan, Ariston West, Asingan, was arrested last September 5 in San Felipe East, San Nicolas town for possession of a carnapped Honda XRM RS motorcycle.
Meanwhile, Marquez ordered an intensified police operations in Pangasinan to arrest other members of the group, especially now that their leader has been neutralized.
“A continuous implementation of PNP-initiated focused police operations shall be strictly observed not only in Pangasinan but for the entire region to apprehend more carnappers and to stump out carnapping groups,” Marquez said.
