Kagawad files case for direct assault vs. resident
KAGAWAD Alberto Gregorio of Bonuan Gueset has filed a complaint before the City Prosecution Office for direct assault and slander by deeds against a resident who failed to substantiate his earlier claim that the former mauled him in front of the Church of Annunciation in Bonuan Gueset in the morning of August 27.
Named respondent in the complaint was Gerardo Besa Cruz Ceralde of Eastern Blue Beach in Bonuan Gueset who accused Gregorio of mauling him during a distribution of relief goods by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC).
Few hours after the supposed incident, Ceralde’s mother went to the barangay hall to have it logged in the blotter.
The next day, Ceraldo himself went to a radio station and related the incident on air.
Gregorio has denied the accusation and explained that Ceralde went to him, presenting a torn paper stub which the latter wanted the former to sign so that he can be given relief goods.
But Gregorio admonished Ceralde to stay in line like the rest of the people claiming relief goods.
Ceralde then allegedly crumpled the paper and threw it in the face of the kagawad.
Cited by Gregorio as his witnesses are Nel Bautista of Eastern Blue Beach in Bonuan Gueset and Loreto Almonte of Las Vegas, Bonuan Gueset.
The complaint was administered by Asst. City Prosecutior Elmer Surot.
