AS part of its nationwide caravan to rekindle the spirit of “EDSA” in the provinces, the EDSA People Power Commission (EPPC) held a forum and book launch in Dagupan last week.

Lyceum Northwestern University, the official host, organized the Salubungan Forum held in the morning of September 19 while the Children’s Book Launch and Storytelling was scheduled in the afternoon.

“This program is to propagate what we learned in 1986 all over the Philippines…especially to the youth who didn’t see what happened… EDSA brought back to the Filipino what this country stands for and who is a Filipino,” said Commissioner Cesar Sarino, EPPC head.

The activity aims to promote the vision that different sectors can come together to carry on with the unfinished work of rebuilding the nation.

The storytelling, meanwhile, targets primary students to inform this post-EDSA generation about the heroism demonstrated by Filipinos in the 1986 peaceful revolution.Johanne R. Macob with report from PIA1-Pangasinan/VHS
