Pregnant woman electrocuted

LINGAYEN—A woman, who was six-months pregnant, was electrocuted to death while crossing a fishpond where she accidentally touched a low-lying live wire of the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco) attached to a house in Sitio Toktok, Barangay Namolan here last August 21.

The victim, Cristina Diocares, 29, and her husband Bernard Diocares, were crossing the fishpond on board a banca and while paddling, she accidentally touched the live wire connected to the house of Soledad Tejero, as evidenced by the injury on her right wrist, causing electrocution.

She was brought to the Lingayen District hospital for immediate medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
