LINGAYEN–The provincial government has expressed full support to the Alaminos City government’s plan to beautify and improve the facilities at the Hundred Islands.

Governor Amado Espino Jr. gave this assurance when he joined Alaminos City Mayor Arthur Celeste in inspecting the tourist site last August 3, while the demolition of illegal structures built on Quezon Island was going on.

“We shall restore the natural beauty of the Hundred Islands by introducing facilities that will enhance and blend with the environment for both the comfort and enjoyment of tourists and our own province-mates visiting here,” Espino said.

“Let us have a fresh start and forget the political past to ensure a more beautiful Hundred Islands,” he added.

Meanwhile, Celeste assured the governor that visitors to the islands will not be affected while the dismantling operation is ongoing.

“Tourists, visitors and beachgoers will always have fun in the island,” Celeste said.

NEW FACILITIES

Celeste noted that one of the pressing needs on the islands is fresh water supply and clean comfort rooms.

However, he said they will first seek technical advice from experts before constructing tourist-friendly facilities.

Among the projects being lined up are a zip line that will connect one island to another and guesthouses and gazebos in the Quezon Island.

Espino stressed to Celeste that he should give priority cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation and to focus initially on the facelift of the four major islands of the Hundred Islands group, namely the Governor’s Island, Children’s Island, Quezon Island and Marcos Island.
