Foundation helps Capitol revive Lingayen Gulf, 100 Isles
LINGAYEN–The provincial government has enlisted the help of the “Shore it Up: Rescue, Restore, Revive” campaign of the Metro Pacific Investment Foundation in cleaning and reviving both the Lingayen Gulf and the Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos City.
To formalize the partnership, Gov. Amado Espino Jr. and MPIF chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan signed a Memorandum of Understanding last August 6, 2013.
Following a planning and coordinating meeting on August 9 and 10, 2013, a team composed of staff from Shore-it-Up and the provincial government will conduct a giant clam rearrangement and mangrove planting at the Hundred Islands on August 24.
The following day, a coastal cleanup and an environmental seminar for children will be held in Lingayen.
