ALCALA—Residents of this eastern Pangasinan town are hopeful their newly elected officials led by Mayor Ryan Paolo V. Mencias will lead in creating “a new climate of uninterrupted growth.”

Mencias’ team had a clean sweep in the last elections, including Vice Mayor Jojo Callejo and Councilors Rodolfo Rosquita, Fe Peregrino, Gerardo Ablao, Eddie dela Cruz, Emme Luisa Ramos, Mario Cerezo, Amor Espiritu and Reynaldo Catalan.

The young Mencias, 32, is the son of Engr. Reynaldo Mencias, project manager of the Agno River Integrated Irrigation Project in San Roque, and the former Maybelyn Vergara of San Esteba, Ilocos Sur.
