ALAMINOS CITY—A passenger of a jeepney bound for Burgos was killed and another person hurt when the vehicle was sideswiped by a speeding Mitsubishi L300 closed van coming from the opposite direction in Barangay Amandiego here at about 2:50 p.m. of July 31.

The fatality was identified as Mario Buenaflor, 24, of Barangay Bolaney, Alaminos City, who suffered fatal injuries on his head while he was hanging on the rear portion of the jeepney.

Buenaflor was rushed to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Injured in the same vehicular accident was Jennyval Balaus, also a passenger of the jeepney.

Both vehicles sustained major damages.
