UCAAP cagefest opening reset Aug. 7
THE opening of the Universities Colleges Athletic Association of Pangasinan (UCAAP), originally set on July 31, will be held on August 7.
According to the coach of one of the participating teams, Jorge Ceralde of the Lyceum Northwestern University Dukes, the organizers led by University of Pangasinan PHINMA postponed the opening to give all the players more time to practice and resolve their respective domestic issues in preparation for the tiff off to be held at the Dagupan People’s Astrodome.
Beefing up the tournament are multi-titled University of Luzon and dark-horse Pangasinan Merchant Marine Academy.
Ceralde also said the four participating teams will clash twice during the elimination round and the top two squads after the elims will battle for the championship in a best-of-three series.
The third and fourth placers will collide for third place via knockout system.–JAGJr.
