Pangasinan Mayors League elect new officers

CALASIAO—The Pangasinan Mayors League held its elections last July 25 here with all the 14 newly elected officers unopposed.

Dasol Mayor Noel Nacar was re-elected president of the group composed of 44 members out of the 48 towns and cities in Pangasinan.

The other elected officers are: Laoac Mayor Silverio Alarcio (executive vice president), San Nicolas Mayor Rebecca Saldivar (secretary general), Villasis Mayor Libradita Abrenica (treasurer), Mayors Susan Casareno and Gwen Yamamoto of Rosales and Bani towns respectively (auditors), Agno Mayor Joel Pajeta (business manager), Alcala Mayor Ryan Paolo Mencias (public relations officer).

Elected vice presidents are Mabini Mayor Carlito Reyes (1st district), Labrador Mayor Ricardo Camacho (2nd district), Mapandan Mayor Maximo Calimlim Jr (3rd district), Mangaldan Mayor Bona de Vera (4th district), Sto. Tomas Mayor Timoteo Villar III (5th district) and Balungao Mayor Phillip Peralta (6th district).

Nacar, in his inaugural speech, called on his fellow mayors to support the league by actively participating in meetings and discussions of issues that affect them, their constituents and the province.

“Pangasinan is one of the biggest provinces in the country and let us show our force by being united,” Nacar said.—Eva Visperas
