DTI holds consumer-friendly practices seminar
THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is offering business owners a “Capability Building Seminar on Consumerism” to improve services to customers, especially in handling complaints.
The seminar is part of DTI’s advocacy program to enhance the skills and knowledge of business establishment personnel in handling consumer complaints and ensure speedy resolution of customers’ grievances with products and services.
Resource speakers from DTI discussed the provisions of Republic Act 7394, the Consumer Act of the Philippines, especially on the rights and responsibilities of the consumers.
BAGWIS PROGRAM
They also discussed the DTI Bagwis Program, the DTI-Certified Establishment Program, that confer business establishments with a Seal of Excellence Awards for upholding the rights and welfare of consumers.
Director Peter Mangabat of DTI-Pangasinan enjoined business owners to apply for the DTI Bagwis Program so that they could be included in the nationwide list of consumer-friendly stores.
