2 robbery gang members arrested in Mangaldan

MANGALDAN–Two members of a robbery gang were arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by the police minutes after they held up one establishment in Barangay Guilig here at about 10:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Arrested were Danilo Gabriel, 32, of Barangay Lekep, San Fabian town; and Michael Martinez , 22, of Barangay Tambac, Dagupan City.

The two, who were armed, escaped on board a motorcycle shortly after they held up the crew of Happy-Inn, taking away their cellular phones and P2,000 cash, then opened fire before leaving, injuring one of the workers on the right foot.

The owner and crew of the establishment immediately reported the incident to the Mangaldan Police Station led by Supt. Policarpio Cayabyab.

The police immediately responded, gave chase to the suspects and successfully arrested the suspects.

Confiscated and recovered from the Gabriel was a Cal. 45 pistol with one magazine loaded with three live ammunition while Martinez yielded one caliber 38 revolver Armscor 2015  loaded with live ammunition and one  empty shell.

Martinez was also in possession of the two stolen cell phones and cash money amounting to  P1,500.

Further investigation revealed that the arrested suspects were responsible for a series of snatching and robbery hold-up incidents recorded in Mangaldan  and nearby towns.

Previous victims came to the Mangaldan Police Station and positively identified the two.

A case of Robbery Hold-up and Frustrated Homicide have already been filed in court against the suspects.
