2 men arrested for shooting 2 houses in Dagupan
TWO persons suspected to have opened fire on two houses in Barangay Lasip Grande in Dagupan on the night of July 21 were arrested by the police in a follow-up operation in Barangay Malued.
The suspects, Geofrey Janairo, alias Bro, 53, and Antonio Esguerra, 24, of Malued District, were tagged as the two that fired at the houses of Lalie Carino, 64, a nurse and Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), and Michael Mapanao, 37, an engineer, both of Lasip Grande.
Police caught up with the two in Barangay Malued where they refused to surrender and instead fled then opened fire on approaching lawmen.
Esguera was caught with one Caliber 38 revolver, locally known as paltik, without a serial number and loaded with four live ammunition and one fired cartridge case in its cylinder.
Janairo, on the other hand, had no firearm.
A case for direct assault upon agent of person in authority, attempted homicide and violation of Republic Act 8294 is now being prepared against the suspects.
