June 20, now yearly ‘Diskwento Sale’ day in Dagupan
A CITYWIDE sale in Dagupan’s shopping malls and other business establishments dubbed ‘Diskwento Dagupan Sale’ will now be an annual event every June 20, in line with the city’s Charter Day celebration.
In the recent 66th Charter Day of Dagupan, the June 20 sale was conducted in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Director Peter Mangabat of DTI-Pangasinan said the activity was initiated by Mayor-elect Belen Fernandez to encourage consumer spending and establish the date as “Sale” day in the city.
“During the one day sale, the public availed of basic commodities at a discount up to 50 percent,” Mangabat said.
Business establishments that participated in the Diskwento Dagupan Day Sale were: Robinsons Dagupan, EC Deals Supermarket, Puregold Jr. Bonuan, Unitop Dagupan, Dagupan 168, Addessa Corporation, Siapno-Tada Optical, Magic Group of Companies, MJ Gas Corporation, and the CSI Group of Companies owned by the family of Fernandez.
