Gov. Espino inducts new Liga ng mga Barangay, PCL prov’l presidents

LINGAYEN–Two more members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) were inducted into office by Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. during the oath-taking rites held at the ceremonial hall of Urduja House last June 28.

The positions, however, were temporary in nature until new federation presidents are elected in the provincial level, following the 2013 barangay elections.

It was prompted by urgency of the immediate turn-over after the positions were vacated by former Board Members Amadeo Espino and Salvador Perez who won in their respective candidacies in the May 13 elections.

Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial Vice President Alfe Soriano of Malasiqui became the immediate successor of former Liga President Espino, who was elected Mayor of Bautista.

Meanwhile, Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) Provincial Federation Secretary Rosalie Ellasus from San Jacinto succeeded Perez, former PCL President.

Both Perez and the PCL vice president ran in the last May 13 election but lost.

In related news, re-elected and newly elected local officials of 17 towns in the province took their oath-of-office before Governor Espino on June 26 and 27 at the Ceremonial Hall, Urduja House.

Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim Jr. as well as the family members of the local officials witnessed the governor’s signing of the certificate of oath.

Town mayors of San Jacinto (Robert De Vera), Agno (Jose Pajeta) and Basista (Manolito de Leon) and elected Vice Mayor (Carlos Trece Mapili) of Tayug together with their respective Sangguniang Bayan (SB) members took the oath of office on June 26 along with some SB members of Lingayen and Binmaley.

Meanwhile, on the following day, eleven more mayors and their SB members were inducted. Chief town executives were: Armando Domantay Sr. (Malasiqui), Ricardo M. Camacho (Bayambang), Ricardo O. Camacho (Labrador), Ryan Paolo Mencias (Alcala), Constante Agbayani (San Fabian), Mina Joy Pangasinan (Sison), Aldrin Cerdan (Anda) Gwen Yamamoto (Bani), Alberto Guiang Jr. (Burgos) and Jumel Espino, Governo’s son, (Bugallon).
